Enabling young people through therapy using outdoor adventure activities: The influence of Human Nature at Byron Bay Business Awards 2023.

Human Nature is dedicated to enhancing youth mental health through outdoor adventure therapy, celebrated at the Byron Bay Business Awards 2023. By combining outdoor activities with therapeutic interventions, they help young individuals overcome challenges, promoting resilience and personal growth long term. 

The team from Human Nature are both humbled and delighted to have been recognised by the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce as recipients of the Outstanding Community Organisation award at the Byron Bay Business Awards 2023 on Thursday, 24 July. 

The night was a time to celebrate an amazing array of local businesses, with the award win providing an opportunity for CEO Sharyn White and founder Andy Hamilton to highlight the often unseen work we are doing to help young people overcome their challenges and create positive change in their lives. Our work makes a very real difference to the future generation who will be ongoing contributors to the diversity of our region. 

We were proud to be recognised alongside the Byron Community Centre, who work tirelessly within the community to provide essential support services for those who are already experiencing the dire consequences we aim to avoid for our participants. 

We’re grateful to those who recognised, and continue to recognise, our mission and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who walk alongside us, providing the donations and support we need to empower us in our passion for helping young people. 

As a charity that does not receive government funding, we rely on philanthropic donations from organisations and individuals. Demand for our service consistently exceeds the funding that we have available.
