Melea Hibbins

Melea’s background in sociology, politics, and law makes her a passionate advocate for social justice. After working in immigration law and with an international children’s NGO, her path led her to the beautiful Northern Rivers. Here, she saw firsthand the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and mental health complexities.

Driven to make a difference, Melea joined the Department of Communities and Justice, specifically focusing on the rough sleeper program. This experience solidified her commitment to improving service delivery for those most in need.

But Melea believes in taking a different approach. She’s drawn to Human Nature, a program that provides therapeutic care in nature, a setting where young people can truly feel comfortable. This unique approach allows care to fit the individual, not the other way around.

When Melea isn’t working, you’ll likely find her unwinding with hot yoga, exploring the outdoors with her two energetic pups, or taking a refreshing dip in the ocean. After all, a healthy dose of nature is essential for both work and play!
