Information for parents and carers
A transformative path forward for young people
We understand how tough it can be for parents and carers to see the young people in their lives go through challenges. We are here to provide hope and therapeutic support in a flexible, engaging manner.
Our programs have close to a 100% engagement rate which may be vastly different to therapies your child has tried in the past.
Our success stems from meeting young people where they’re at psychologically, emotionally, developmentally and physically. Our qualified therapists and mentors support young people in a range of non-clinical settings where they are most likely to feel comfortable and safe. This may include in their home, at school, or at cafes. We aim to get them outdoors and encourage them to be active wherever possible. In these environments, they find it easier to open and connect with their peers, with themselves and with the therapeutic support we offer.
Human Nature is not a crisis response service
For mental health emergencies, please call the Mental Health Line 1800 011511. The Mental Health Line is available to everyone in NSW and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If someone has attempted or is at immediate risk of attempting to harm themselves or someone else, call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Or go to a hospital emergency department, where they may refer you to a mental health service.

If a young person is suitable for our service, a Mental Health care plan is not essential but is preferred in most cases. If a young person referred to us can’t afford to pay, we can provide places at low or no cost. This is made possible by our generous donors and supporters.
There are limited places in our programs, and demand grows every day. Currently, we are prioritising those young people who have not had success engaging with other services in the region. The services below should be your first stop if a young person in your life needs support.
Always call 000 if you or a young person are in danger.
